Get up and move

If you're like me, you spend a lot of time working on yourself. We work to hold and heal our wounds. We realize which belief systems are holding us back and we let them go. We delve into what our limitations are and we seek to transform them. We journal, talk to people and contemplate. But sometimes, we need to actually just move our bodies. To truly let something go or let it transform, both our minds and our bodies have to agree that it is time, but often, we don't think to get our bodies involved.

This week, get up and move. If you are feeling like you contain yourself too much, turn on some crazy music and dance wildly in your living room. If you are carrying some heavy emotions, go hug a tree or lie on a large rock and let it pour out of you into the Earth. Take the time to feel into your body and ask it what it needs. Do you need some extra nurturing? Go snuggle up with a soft blanket. Are you tired? Take some time to rest or, better yet, nap. If you speak softly because you don't want to make a scene, crank up your favorite music and sing as loudly as you feel like.
