Honoring the expansive strength we all are
Have you ever watched a baby take his/her first steps? Or crawl for the first time? Or finally reach that toy they've been trying to grab for the past few days? You sit there cheering them on as they reach each milestone, supporting them where you can and knowing they can do it. You cheer them on and you share their joy when they make it, but you can't do it for them. You can hold their hands as they practice taking steps, but for them to learn to walk, you have to let go and trust that they can do it.
We are each expansive, strong, spiritual beings having a human experience of growth and understanding, but so often we don't see each other as that. We jump in to rescue people and save them from their lives. But isn't that kind of like not allowing a baby to learn to walk? We are all here to learn certain things, and like a baby learning to walk, we get to do it ourselves. Has anyone ever made an important transformation for you? Or did you have to experience it yourself? Why do we feel like we have to save other people? Why is it we don't acknowledge the greatness that we each are? What if, instead of trying to save someone, you became their biggest cheerleader, full of compassion, love and excitement for what they have the opportunity to learn? You hold them when they cry, wrap them in your love, even hold their hands while they practice taking steps, and you tell them you know they can do it . You look into their eyes, you see the expansive strength that they truly are, you know they can do it and you celebrate with them when they do. What would that feel like, if we supported each other in that way?
