Radiance

Radiance is the lightness of your being, the swirling beautiful colors of the essence of who you are, shining out in all directions - through your eyes and your heart and through all aspects of your being. It's soft and warm, light and bright, nurturing and enveloping. It is the peace and the presence of your mother holding you with all of her being as you cry when you're child. It is beauty, true beauty. It is the light of God within each of us being allowed to be expressed. The walls we hold up to protect ourselves prevent the radiance from shining through. The radiance is soft and beautiful and wraps you up and holds you just by being near it. Sometimes we put walls up and sometimes we crumble. Neither state allows the radiance. Neither state allows the receiving. Neither state feels good. Untwisting ourselves from being crumpled seems difficult to do, but it seems that if you open a slit to let the light of the Universe in, it will un-crumple and erect you, puff out the kinks, turns, contractions and fallenness, as your light fills you, you stand strong and be radiance yourself. You don't have to do a million things. You don't have to unkrinkle every fold, or prop yourself up with sticks, or undo every knot and kink, you just open up a little and the light of the Universe will de-crumple you. It doesn't have to be a long process. For those of us who shield ourselves, taking down the shield feels frightening, but the shield is blocking all of the receiving of the light. We think we are protecting ourselves, but when we fully open, becoming all that we are, we don't need protection. The expansiveness, the light, and the radiance help us move through life smoothly and safely.
